Shipping Manager - Version 2 - August 15th 2008

After 8 months of operation and in response to your feedback, for which we are very grateful, we are pleased to bring you Shipping Manager Version 2. You will find the additional features make using Shipping Manager even better for arranging your courier services and keeping track of your parcels in transit.

Overall look and feel of the site: We have made some subtle changes to the site but tried to keep as much as possible of the original design and function - we have had very strong feedback that you all like the site design.

Quick quote and book (replaces 'add item manually'): This feature can be used inside your account to book one-off collections and deliveries - perhaps products not downloaded from your e-commerce software. It can also be used as a stand alone booking tool and of course as a quoting tool if you need to find out the cost of a delivery without actually making a booking.

Track and Trace: An exciting and important addition. Enter your order number and find out exactly where your parcel is within the delivery chain. Information is displayed straight from the carriers and is given in real time. A tracking box is available in the top right hand corner of every page.

Tracking: An excellent feature for busy retailers. Tracking allows you to keep an eye on all of your collection and deliveries. Colour coding enables you to see at a glance where parcels have been collected and delivered, or when they are still in transit. In the event of delayed delivery you will see that there is a problem. Individual parcels can be traced from this feature - giving you quick, easy to use, meaningful information about all of the parcels you have out for delivery. No more waiting for unhappy customers to let you know things haven't been delivered - you will know before them that there may be a problem - allowing our customer service staff to intervene at an early stage.

API: We have developed a number of new ways for you to integrate Shipping Manager with your e-commerce site. Our API allows you integrate directly with your site allowing you to obtain service information and place bookings without you having to log into your Shipping Manager account. DHL Time Definite - July 6th 2008

We can now offer a 'by air' service through DHL. Previously we only offered delivery services to 60 countries, this has now increased to just over 200. In the vast majority of cases the prices for non-EU deliveries has halved compared to our previous best offers. What's more, the second you complete your order on our site you'll be presented with a PDF label you can print and attach to your parcel - drastically cutting down the time it takes to hand over the item to the courier when he arrives. Cube Cart Integration - 26th March 2008

We've added another string to our bow. If you use Cube Cart then you can now enjoy the full benefits of Shipping Manager. Just upload one small file to your server and then at a click of a button all of your orders that require shipping will be downloaded into your Shipping Manager account.

New Features Added - 24th February 2008

A core principle of Shipping Manager is to listen to feedback and make changes to our software. With this in mind we have launched several exciting improvements.

  • You can now link your Shipping Manager account to as many different platforms as you want. For example, if you have 3 eBay accounts, a Zen Cart shop and an osCommerce site then you can now download orders from each into the same Shipping Manager account.

  • We have added a facility so you can import a CSV file containing your orders directly into your Shipping Manager account. This is particularly useful if you want to import your orders from Actinic Catalog or Roman Cart into Shipping Manager without having to manually re-type in your customer's addresses.

  • If you only want to ship certain items through Shipping Manager then our new 'Downloads' section will save you time. You can now specify the names of the products you would like Shipping Manager to download from your e-commerce platform.

Partnership with Zen Cart Announced - 14th February 2008

We have launched an official partnership with Zen Cart, one of the most popular pieces of shopping cart software on the market. Zen users can now, at the click of a button, download all their orders requiring shipping without having to re-enter any customer or products details.

Closer Integration with DHL - 1st February 2008

We have upgraded our system for placing your bookings direct with DHL. As soon as you book your item via your Shipping Manager account then our system books your parcels direct with the appropriate DHL depot. This process takes a fraction of a second and ensures that your items will be collected on time. In the event of something not going to plan we are also now automatically notified of any problems associated with the collection - our proactive staff will investigate and in most cases rectify the problems before you even know there was a problem.
